Star Team members commence their academic journeys at premier North American universities
1 September 2023

The students have told us about their initial experiences of studying and living on American university campuses.

Star Team members have gained admission into leading universities in the USA and Canada, demonstrating that talented students from even the most remote regions can access world-class education.

They are set to embark on a four-year academic journey in high-demand fields such as computer science, mathematics, chemistry, data science, graphic design, and film industry.

Through the Star Team initiative, graduates from Yakutia have secured admission into renowned institutions like the University of California in Berkeley and Los Angeles, New York University, the University of British Columbia in Canada, and others.

Education at these universities comes with a hefty price tag. However, all expenses related to relocation and tuition are covered by Arsen Tomskii, the founder of inDrive, from his personal funds. Each of the 11 Star Team members will receive an annual sum of 770,000 US dollars (equivalent to 75 million rubles at the current exchange rate).

The initiative encourages students to aspire for admission into the world’s best universities. In the future, they could form a cadre of true professionals ready to assist their homeland by contributing positively to their community’s development.

Here are some insights from our Star Team members about their initial experiences in a foreign country:
