The film was produced by the Bad Planet team. This documentary is a story of growing up, searching for oneself and for home, and trying to find a balance between duty and one’s personal path.
Arsen Tomsky, founder of the program:
Star Team is my personal project, my way of giving back to Yakutia — the land where I was born. Yakutia today faces enormous challenges: the thawing of permafrost, the shift from natural to lab-grown diamonds, and the world’s transition to renewable energy. These changes are happening fast, and the best response we can offer is through education, knowledge, and the development of bright minds. Even a small group of young leaders and professionals — equipped with world-class knowledge, skills, and global networks — can make a real difference, wherever life takes them.
We have the example of China, which has made an incredible breakthrough in development largely due to the fact that for several decades now hundreds of thousands of students from this country have been studying at the best universities in America and Europe, adopting knowledge and technology, creating an extensive network of contacts around the world.
In the future, once the geopolitical situation improves, I plan to continue Star Team — a mission close to my heart. I’m deeply grateful to the Bad Planet team for creating this beautiful film and wish them luck at film festivals with ‘Ayan, ’ and to Nastya Ammosova for her outstanding leadership of Star Team and her support of the film project.
