Sending your child abroad to study can cause many worries and anxious thoughts for parents. We want to reassure you and give you full information on how we work with parents of students to ensure your child’s safety, comfort and quality education abroad.
Communication with parents plays an important role in students' academic success and adaptation to an unfamiliar environment. Universities provide various ways of communication, including e-mail, telephone, and online counseling. Modern technology helps you communicate instantly and for free with a person thousands of miles away. Keep in regular contact, but don’t push with frequent calls and texts. Allow your child to be independent and autonomous so that they can successfully adapt to a different country.
You can monitor your child’s progress through the university’s online system. Access to grades and academic information is given once the student is enrolled. This will keep you informed about the educational process and provide support if your child needs help.
Universities welcome parents to visit the university campus. You are welcome to come and spend time with your child during vacations or holidays. However, it is important to consider your child’s schedule and academic responsibilities.
Students are notified about the dates of vacations and days off before the beginning of the semester. Remember that national holidays in different countries may not coincide with holidays in Russia. For example, in the United States, students take a week-long vacation on Thanksgiving Day (the fourth Thursday in November).
If a student is not allowed to live on campus during the vacations, we recommend discussing plans with your child in advance. This will be a great opportunity for them to explore new places and experience independent living.
We focus on the safety and well-being of all of our students and appreciate your support in this process. We stay in constant contact with our students and help them with their studies and life.
Remember, we are always available to answer your questions and provide you with all the information you need. Your trust and support is important to your child’s success at university. Write to us: info@starteam.foundation.
