About IELTS

IELTS (International English Language Testing System) is an international testing system designed to assess English language proficiency.

The only possibility to take IELTS for Russians is to do it abroad, for example, in Kazakhstan, Armenia, Belarus, Georgia, Azerbaijan or Turkey. You can register for the exam on one of the official websites: British Council or IDP Australia. You can get the results 5-7 days after taking the exam.

IELTS comes in three types:

  • General — for jobs and careers in international companies;
  • Academic — for international students;
  • Life Skills — for those moving for work, study and family reasons, aiming at getting a residence permit (only for the UK).
