Presentation of the Star Team project

An additional recruitment of the Star Team program participants from the 9th and 10th grades of schools in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) was completed.

A total of 136 applications for participation in the project were received, of which 116 students were selected: 40 9th grade and 76 10th grade students.

The program of the project includes weekly from September 18 to December 25, 2021, online masterclasses from experts on admission to the best universities in the world, and students who will talk about their experience of admission, the peculiarities of studying and living abroad.

The cycle of webinars will include topics such as “Where to go for higher education abroad?” with information about the international reputation of universities, how to choose a university, general requirements for all universities, academic and language training, stages and timelines for preparation, “Higher education in the USA, UK, Canada, and other countries”, where experts will talk about the advantages of the education system in different countries, list of top universities, career prospects, application process and preparation stages.

There will also be the most up-to-date information on changes in admission abroad in connection with COVID and answers to questions of interest from participants.

A series of hands-on workshops will take place from January to May 2022:

1.Research of universities and selection of higher education institutions,
how to choose universities for yourself on the principle of "dream university", "optimal university", "safe choice" ("reach", "match", "safety");

2. Strategy of admission in the USA,
all preparation components, required documents, deadlines for submission, Common App system;

3. Strategy for admission in the UK,
all preparation components, required documents, deadlines for submission, UCAS system, separate submission to Oxbridge;

4. Strategy for admission in Canada,
all components of preparation, required documents, deadlines for submission, system for submitting documents in Canada;

5. International exams (IELTS, TOEFL, SAT / ACT),
recent changes, exam content, and training structure;

6. Extracurricular portfolio,
the importance of academic merit and extracurricular activities, examples;

7. How to write a motivation letter.

8. How to prepare and pass the interview.

9. Integrity of the application process.

The program of webinars and workshops will acquaint you with the relevant information you need and help project participants to enter top universities.
